An American 4th of July!

So, on my last day of holidays before I starting my internship, I took the time to walk all around the most beautiful places in the city. Not to mention that it was the 4th of July: US Independance Day!

It all started when we left the hotel to get breakfast where my dad used to go 25 years ago: Le Meridien. The fresh squeezed orange juice was simply a real delight.

We kept on walking towards Telegraph Hill, a wonderful place with beautiful houses, great vegetation surrounding the streets/walls, and a splendid view on the bay and the rest of the city, depending where you're headed...

From Telegraph Hill, we moved on to Coit Tower, the famous tower looking over the rest of the city. You can see the video and the pictures below... obviously!

We continued our walk towards Lombard street, the crookest street in the world.

And finally, the end of this several-hours-long walk ended up on Fisherman's Wharf and Presidio Park. On the way back, we even passed by Lucasfilm Studios (yes: the Movie Studios belonging to George Lucas' company —the famous director that did Indiana Jones AND Star Wars...)

As you can see, the view on the Golden Gate Bridge was absolutely beautiful!

We came back to the hotel to rest, and left an hour later to get ready to attend to the fireworks being launched on the Wharf. We were hungry upon arrival and the luckiest thing happened: right after we got our sits at classical american restaurant 'Lori's Dinner' the fireworks started. As an annecdote, we were very surprised when the man giving us our seats asked where we were from. He answered (in french) 'So why didn't you say so earlier?!' => It's a small world: he was french. A real parisian!

To be honest, they were amongst the best one I've seen so far. And i'm talking as the guy living on the french riviera who's able to see an international fireworks competition in Cannes every summer...

Well done America, and Happy Anniversary!

ps: as a bonus, here is The Bush-Man. To summarize it quickly, this guy spends his day sitting here behind these branches and scares the crap out of people. It's hilarious and he's very cool! We stayed like half an hour enjoying an espresso and watching him scare tourists as well as locals...
