Before I start this article: Sorry for the delayed posts!
So as the explicit title mentions... I just survived my first week at this start-up where I'm interning: Seesmic.
I had an awesome first week, working in the community department and also preparing some upcoming product launch and a big conference that we're attending as well. The team is absolutely AWESOME and I feel part of a solid team, which is a huge change from University or my previous summer job experiences. It's also very cool to be able to cut the abstract and work on something concrete.
Also, the fact that it's quite a small company allows me to learn about plenty of different things and multitask, rather than being part of a company with 300+ employees where everyone has one single role.
Most of the people at the company are French (we even have one belgian guy) despite the company being american and having a few Americans as well...
Rather than having a sandwich on your own, most of the time we go out for lunch all together which is really good to:
a) take the edge off work for an hour
b) create a solid bond with your coworkers and team members
So, in short, I'm absolutely loving my time here! Everything is amazing, the company and its future are very exciting and I couldn't be happier AT WORK, which is not something you hear/see/read that often...
By the way, if you're into business/enterprise and have heard of Salesforce, you might wanna stay tuned for Dreamforce (at the end of august/beginning of september) and if you're one of the attendees, make sure to check Seesmic, because we'll be there and I can guarantee you will want to see what we have in stock for you!
